Herbison, 39, took ill at the weekly 5k Parkrun at Rushcliffe Country Park, Notts, on

ourse. Witnesses said dozens of her fellow runners stopped to help the fundraiser and comforted her until pa

She died in hospital the next day with husband Ade, 43, and their sons at her side. Nikki led a project to redevelop St M

in Ruddington, Notts, where supporters said they would miss her “enthusiasm, drive and sheer determination”. Friends said they want the scheme to include a memorial for Nikki. Friend Kate Coppinger, from Nottingham, wrote: “I’ve been th

inking and praying for her and her family such a lot over the past few days. “It is so sad and an absolutely tragic loss for all of her family and friends. My thoughts and prayers go out to them all. Temperatures in Nottingham on race day were in the mid 70s.  The results of a postmortem are expected within the next few days.
