Army skydiver hurtles to earth at 128mph after collapsing his parachute

Crowds at a skydiving demonstration were shocked by

the heart-stopping sight of an army sergeant hurtling towards Earth at 128mph as h

is main parachute collapsed. The sergeant could be seen opening his main chute, which then became tangled while in mid-air, forcing him to cut it loose to save himself. The sergeant then opens his reserve chute, allowing him to float safely to the ground. The scene, at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia, USA, and was captured by photographer Joe Broyles.
